We've been friends with this family since Danny and Grant started school together as babies. It completely amazes me how big Danny is, and how quickly time flies. As babies, people routinely mistook Danny and Grant for each other, and I have to admit that one day I walked into class and started cuddling Danny before I realized that he wasn't Grant!! Two years later, Cannon joined Natalie's class {and I'm still waiting for another little Mahoney friend for Lily!!}

Mischievous Boys

John, Jennifer, Ella & Samson

Meet John, Jennifer, Ella and Samson. This adorable family is so photogenic that picture taking (for me) was so much fun! It was really hard to narrow their photos down for the blog!

We met up on Saturday, and the weather was so gorgeous that we decided to go to a local park and run around (literally!). Ella brought a special princess dress for her pictures, and the minute that dress was over her head she took off! She ran around and giggled the entire time!

Thanks, guys! I had a blast!!

Rachael & Zach's Wedding

I first blogged about Rachael and Zach's wedding here, but here are some more shots from the day.

well, for a dramatic second. They still had to come back for photos, guests, food, cake, etc.....

This is Rachael with Zach's mom. Mom's marriage advice?

She looked her dead in the eye and said, "Always sleep naked!"

I love it!!

Okay, so although I haven't really explained, Zach is a farmer. The wedding took place on the family farm, and the setting was spectacular.

By far one of the coolest things ever was the ice cream machine stationed in the pool house!

The kids' (ahem, and adults) could not get enough.

This cutie was in heaven! Her mom was so sad that she ruined her dress, but I say it made a fantastic picture and was totally worth it!!

So Stevie and I headed down to the pond to take pictures of the kids catching snails. We were immediately informed that one of the boys had a splinter in his foot.

Stevie, being a true girl scout, knelt right in to save the day. Only she wasn't presented with a "splinter". This tough guy had a decent sized CHUNK of wood lodged in his foot.

Stevie yanked it out and he never even groaned. Farm kids sure are tough.

Then I fell in love with him and couldn't stop taking his picture. So cute!!

She also tells more of the story - about how this entire wedding was postponed at the last minute because of Hurricane Hannah, and how this Super Bride and her family called 500 people the day before!!

The wedding and setting were simply beautiful! It was my first wedding photography experience, and it will be hard to beat!

The Smoldering Hot Kiss

I was introduced to the world of Wedding Photography on Sunday when my friend (and mentor), Stevie, hired me to second shoot a wedding with her. Although it was my first, Stevie was a pro.

She did her job seamlessly, while still directing and teaching me. She organized family members, set up gorgeous shots, let me have a crack at her shots at different angles, and asked me for ideas. Although it was trial by fire, I think we made a pretty good team.

And the bride and groom (and their families) were naturally gorgeous and photogenic - which made my "job" so easy.

Rachael and Zach's wedding was scheduled for September 6th, but Hurricane Hanna had other plans for them. They took it in stride, waited out the storm, and were married on September 7th instead.

There are so many wonderful things to share about this beautiful, friendly couple. But first, I want to share one of my favorite photos from the day...

Paul's Police Graduation

Janice is a teacher at my sons' school and asked me to take pictures at her son's police academy graduation ceremony. During our conversations about Paul, she simply beamed with pride for her son, but got choked up every time. She understands the danger he will face on the job, but could not be more proud her son.

Paul's dad is a former police officer and pinned on his badge for him. This is Paul saluting his father after his badge was pinned.
